Erie Shores HealthCare says president and chief executive officer Kristin Kennedy will leave the organization next spring to take over as president and CEO of Windsor Regional Hospital.

Kennedy will remain in her role until March 22, 2026, the hospital’s board of directors announced Monday.

“On behalf of Erie Shores HealthCare’s Board of Directors, I want to congratulate Kristin as she begins preparations for the next stage of her career,” board chair Duffy Kniaziew said in a statement. “I also want to thank her for her strong leadership, dedication, and the countless hours she has given to our organization and this community over the past seven years, including guiding us through the COVID‑19 pandemic and the recent cyberattack.”

Kniaziew said Kennedy’s leadership helped shape the hospital through “some of the most challenging moments in recent healthcare history,” adding that her work will leave a lasting impact on the organization.

Kennedy said the decision to move on was difficult.

“Working alongside the team at ESHC has meant a great deal to me,” she said. “I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with people who are deeply committed, thoughtful, and passionate about the work they do every day, and that’s something I will always carry with me.”

The board said it will appoint an interim CEO later this winter to ensure stability during the transition and to support the hospital’s long‑term planning.

“This work will be guided by what matters most; safe, high‑quality care for our patients and a supportive, respectful workplace for our people,” Kniaziew said.

The board expressed confidence in the hospital’s leadership team and staff, noting that continuity of care and clear communication will remain priorities. More information will be released as decisions are finalized.
